It’s never too soon to get excited about basketball. After all, there are just four months left until the season begins for our defending national champions! The Tar Heels will kick off the season on November 10 with a game at home against Northern Iowa.

With two beloved players, Kennedy Meeks and Isaiah Hicks, heading to the NBA, there will be a big void to fill this season. But we’re anxious to see what the recruiting class of 2017 can do. Garrison Brooks and Sterling Manley both joined the team as power forwards. Brooks was ranked 3rd best player coming out of the state of Alabama by 247 Sports, while Manley was ranked 5th coming out of Ohio. The Heels also managed to snag Jalek Felton, the best combo guard in the country and #1 player in the state of South Carolina.

Finally, Brandon Huffman has promise, as a center ranked 4th out of North Carolina, and Andrew Platek joins the team as a shooting guard ranked 5th in Massachusetts.
