130th Celebration and Other Recent Events

The Psi Chapter of Sigma Nu recently hosted and took part in a handful of events and we wanted to share an update as well as some photos. Please visit the website and submit an update if you have additional photos to share.

- 130th Celebration

On Friday night, October 12th, we hosted the Alumni and their spouses to the house for drinks, food and fellowship.  We had two bands play on the front porch of our house, The Had Matters & The Bad Daddies (most band members played in both).  Had Matters were a popular band of UNC students back in the mid 80s.  We had a great turnout of older alumni, more recent alumni, and current brothers of the chapter.

- Virginia Tech tailgate

On Saturday night, we hosted an alumni tailgate from 4-6 before the night game against Virginia Tech.  We had Jackie Gore, the "father of beach music" play for our group during the tailgate.  Our chef Big Sam cooked a Barbecue dinner for the crowd before the game.

Other recent events...

- Carolina for the Kids Event

We helped sponsor a fundraiser for the organization Carolina for the Kids, a group that provides emotional, medical, and financial support for the children and families of patients in the UNC Children's hospital.  We held the fundraiser at Pantana Bob's, a popular Chapel Hill bar

- New Candidates visit Sigma Nu Nationals

On Saturday, October 5th, our new candidates took a trip to Lexington, Virginia to visit the Sigma Nu national headquarters and learn more about the rich history of our chapter and our fraternity.  They took a tour of the facilities and of Virginia Military Institute (where Sigma Nu was founded)
