“The most valuable part of my Sigma Nu experience was establishing lifelong friendships.
This crisis is going to affect higher education in a negative way. More people are going to look into online courses more than before this mandated time. Numerous institutions of higher education will not recover from this crisis.
From my class, there are not a bunch of us left and the ones that are still vertical, I am in touch with.
I’m retired and getting older, which is a good thing.”

“My experience as a Sigma Nu brother was surely the highlight of my 4 years at UNC. I was honored by my Brothers to be the EC during my third year.
We just enjoyed our 50 year anniversary in Chapel Hill last May. We had a fine turnout including the wives of the Brothers. My gift to the Sigma Nu came partially from extra funds left over from the reunion. Proud to say with few exceptions we have stayed in contact with each other over the years. We truly have considered each other Brothers for Life.
I understand Psi Chapter is in good standing at UNC. My visits over the years recently have verified the fine assembly of young gentlemen who have pledged and been initiated.
I hope all can stay clear of the virus over these trying and dangerous times.”

“UNC is a very large school and it is important to have smaller organizations of quality people with which to identify and build strong relationships.
When times are uncertain having friends around is important
I am really not connected with any of my Brothers but called Bob James when I was headed to the swim team meeting and had dinner with him. I did attend the 125 year celebration party. I have passed emails on occasion in years past with guys from the mid 1960’s when there was some news regarding one of them. Bob did a good job of emailing alums a few years back but I have not heard anything in some time.
Retired with a great wife, two great children and a couple of young granddaughters. Playing poor golf, sailing, skiing, traveling, some charity work and projects for the family business.”
